Dog-Friendly Places Near Mass Ave

Don’t leave your furbaby at home when you’re out enjoying downtown Indy this spring and summer!

“We Hoosiers are excessively optimistic about summer.” If you’ve ever been in Indiana during a particularly warm day in April you know for a fact that those words penned by novelist John Green are 100% true. We never know when winter will happen, or how long it’ll stay around so we definitely like getting the most out of the warmth while it’s here. That includes patio season! Now that it’s fully spring and warmer temperatures seem to be sticking around, there’s no need for you or your pooch to be stuck inside all day! Check out these five downtown Indy locations that love accepting your furry friends. Keep in mind that patios can fill up quickly this time of year, so either make a reservation or get there early!

1.       Nine Irish Brothers

Their Lafayette locations consistently receive awards for Best Outdoor Dining experience, and the downtown Indy location is no different! They’ve also been voted the “Best Irish Pub in Indiana” and the “Best Tenderloin in Indiana”, which everyone knows is quite the feat! Don’t take our word for it, though! Grab your four-legged friend and head down to Nine Irish Brothers to see for yourself!

Thanks to their patio out front you don’t even have to leave your furbaby at home while you’re there!

3.       Ralston’s Drafthouse

Named after Alexander Ralston, the engineer who first created the Indianapolis city plan in 1821, Ralston’s is still located inside the original 1-square mile footprint that includes what’s now known as Monument Circle. With a wide array of American fare (not to mention brunch!), and a selection of wines and local craft beer, Ralston’s Drafthouse is the perfect place to get together with a bunch of friends. With a recommendation from Mass Ave Animal Clinic, you know their patio is dog-friendly as well!

Founded in 2012, Pearings has been the go-to healthy snack place in downtown Indy. You’ll need to leave your pooch outside while you’re making your frozen creations, but feel free to enjoy your treat on the patio or even as you’re walking home!
